Oh dear I'm an awful blogger!

Well Well Well.

Hello again blog world. It has been an unreasonable amount of time since I last posted on my blog! And for that I am deeply sorry.

So a ton has happened since I last posted. The biggest and most exciting of them is I moved to Italy for 6 months to be a nanny for an Air Force family stationed at Aviano Air Base. Both the mom and dad are F16 Pilots and have crazy schedules at times so they need someone else there to help out with the kids if they get deployed or have to work early or late hours. Anyways I am a nanny for two precious kids, Gunner and Gianna. Gunner is 3 (I will probably start a weekly Gunner quote post because quotes from 3-year-olds are priceless). Gianna is almost 10 months old and is cuter than cute. She is getting closer and closer each day to talking and walking! I can’t wait until the days when she can run around and say things! This has been an amazing experience and I have been able to see so many cool things since I’ve been here. A few noteworthy things I’ve seen are..

1.Venice

2.Rome

3. Florence

4. Austria

5. Slovenia

6. Croatia

Here's a few pics to hold you over until my next post.

The works of my bucket list.

Like many people after seeing the movie The Bucket List, I have decided to create my own bucket list.. I think that the generic things like get married, have kids, etc. are on my bucket list obviously however my actual bucket list consists of well thought out things that I have decided would be extremely pleasing and I would definitely find great joy out of doing.. (not that getting married and having kids and a family aren't I just mean really random things, that aren't obvious. ) So over the past oh who knows how long, I have created a short, yet wonderful list (in my opinion) of things I would like to do before I kick the old bucket.. So here are the select few things that have been able to make it onto my list.. Don't hate, you know you kinda want to do these things too =)

1. Start a USA chant.. Like U. S. A., U. S. A., U. S. A...... etc. You get the point. Now this is a tricky one.. It's extremely hard to find a crowd that would participate in such a chant. I think this is ridiculous and everyone should be proud to be an American at all times and want to chant it at each opportunity!.. I once tried to start one in the cleaning aisle of Target when there was about 8 people in the aisle with me.. everyone left. enough said. So I have brainstormed a couple of places where I think it could be socially acceptable to start the chant.
a. The fourth of July..
b. The Olympics..
c. A concert where there are a lot of intoxicated people.
d. Any suggestions?

2. Jump (landing on my bohunkass) onto a cake. This one came to me while walking through CostCo one day.. I was walking down the noodle aisle if I remember correctly and a nice looking man was pushing his shopping cart by me, as I looked nosily into his cart I saw a wonderful cake. Yes I am a horrible person for having this urge.. However I think very highly of myself for not acting on my desire.. I wanted sooooo badly to jump into his cart and land on the cake. Don't ask why, just imagine doing it and you will understand. I also work as a photographer's assistant and we do a TON of weddings.... this means wedding cakes.. It takes every ounce of self control not to jump on each of the cakes I see.

3. Count every freckle on my body. I have a TON of freckles. Therefore I think this would be very gratifying. I understand the need of someone else when trying to count in unreachable places. In that case I guess I will add get married to my list that way my husband and I can spend our honeymoon counting the freckles on our bodies.

4. Number four has not been finalized on my list yet. But if I choose to finalize it, it would be to sing the national anthem at an event. I am in no way what-so-ever a great singer, but I love to sing the national anthem. I consider it my specialty, so I think I would feel good if I worked up the courage to sing it at some sort of event.

5. Be on Regis and Kelly. Now in a perfect world of Bucket Lists, this would be Be a permanent co host on Regis and Kelly. But I will settle for just being on it for a day.. My dream job is to be a talk show host, so this would be a start. =)

I am very particular on the items I put on my Bucket List. This is a start though.. I'll keep you posted on more things I decide to put on there. Also if you have any suggestions, they are welcome!

Also I need to address the issue of my lack of blogging. I'm sincerely sorry for my millions of followers. I have failed you all in my blogging activity, however I am back at it and will update you very soon as to what I have been up to and what's going on in my life. Alright well I've got to go but I will be posting very soon =)

My Fingers Smell Like Garlic.....

Yes. It's true. My fingers do smell like garlic.

Tonight I was asked by a fellow teammate to make him dinner. So being the super busy person I am I naturally didn't have time.......... Oh wait.......... I had all the time in the world! So I struggled last night to find a recipe that

1. Sounded delicious.

and perhaps more importantly

2. Was easy to make.

Now I am perhaps not the most creative when it comes to my cooking because most of all I absolutely can't stand going to the store and buying 50 ingredients to make 1 meal for just me. If say, I was cooking for a whole family, or even just two. I would have the motivation to cook something other than BBQ chicken and noodles, hamburger helper, or spaghetti.

So When deciding what to make, my tastebuds began to go crazy when I remembered Noodles & Company's Pesto Cavatappi with Chicken. MMMM MMMMM MMMMMM!!!! SOOOO delicious!

It seemed easy enough so teammate and I went to the grocery store, bought the supplies and began the process. Now during the process I had to cut up a garlic clove (that's what they're called right?)

And now... 4 hours later, along with multiple hand washings, my fingers still REEK of garlic!!

I think the pasta turned out pretty good.. Never as good as the real thing though, but what can you do?...

Teammate said this was a test of my womanhood.. He decided I was a tween.. Boooo... I disagree, he just has less advanced taste buds!

I Don't Mean to Toot My Own Horn BUT...........

BEEP BEEP BEEP TOOT TOOT TOOT BEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cute pic found here.

Let me tell you a little story.

So last night I was up pretty late and didn't get much sleep. So when 7:00 am rolled around I was seriously considering playing a little hooky from school and sleeping in.

But instead I said to myself, "Self. You better get your old bones out of bed and get to class!"

And boy was it a good decision.

When I got to my English class this morning I was sitting with a few friends chatting, when my teacher walked in, looked at me, and said,
"Maggie can I talk to you in the hall for a second?"

Dun

Dun

DUN

I walked out to the hall, trying to think back on the past few weeks, if I had done something that warranted such a discussion...

Nothing came to mind....

"I was wondering if you wouldn't mind me reading your paper to the class.. It was really good and I would like to use it as an example.." My teacher asked me.........

WHAT?!!?!

I obviously said of course I didn't care. But MY paper was exceptional in her mind? The best in the class? I didn't even feel like it was my best work....

So might I say I've been walking with an extra hop in my step all day and tooting my horn everywhere I go...

Rightfully so I think =)

PS. Today is Taco Bell Tuesday-- what shall I get?

PSS. Roommate Brie and I decided to create Mihama Monday last night.. A nice little teriyake joint down the street. It was delicious I got the chicken teriyake plate and a Mr. Pibb.. They even gave us free green tea ice cream because our food took so long.

Hero.

My mom is a stud. Plain and simple.

Her Urban Dictionary Definition found here, describes her perfectly!

Sherry \sh(er)-ry\ is pronounced SHARE-ee. The name is of English origin. Variation of the French "chérie" meaning "beloved". Women with this name are often described as kind, intelligent, mysterious, elegant and sexy. Usually of the most intriguing and beautiful people in the world.

Mon chérie, je vais toujours vous adore.
My beloved, I will always love you.

Sherry is so many things, but mostly she's amazing!!!

My mom and I a couple years ago. (When I dyed my hair brown).

Today she ran in the Boston Marathon. This is absolutely insane to me.

I did a half marathon when I was a senior in high school but I could never even dream of doing the full thing!

The Boston Marathon is extra awesome because you have to qualify to run in it.

So yes, this makes my mother extra awesome because she was fast enough to qualify for it!!

I couldn't tell you how many she has done now, but I think it's starting to get up there.. I she's done two in Colorado, the Portland, New York, Boston twice, and I think Chicago, and probably there's a few that I'm missing in there.

In case you're about to compute and start thinking about how much running that is.. I'll help you out and let you know it's a TON!!!!

There is so much training that goes into running marathons that by the time you get to the actual race you have to be soooooooo drained!

I don't know how she does it!

So today's post is dedicated to my hero.

My mom running in front of the pacer in some marathon. No Big Deal Really. =)

My mother.

Not just because of her studly running abilities, but also because of the woman she is.

Dear Mom,

You are such a strong and loving mother. I look up to you in so many ways and hope I grow to be half the woman you are. You are my hero. Seriously. I'm so lucky to have a mom like you.

I love you mom.

P.S. Can I just say one thing? Isn't my mom a babe?! Bonifide Hottie if I do say so myself.

Why Hello There.

Today the sun decided to poke out from behind the clouds.

For most this is not a rare thing to happen, but going to school in the Northwest you begin to appreciate every minute's worth of sunshine during the winter and spring.

It's amazing how much the sunshine changes my attitude. I hate to admit it but there is a drastic change. When it's gloomy out I can't help but be lazier and not as cheerful as I am when the sun comes out.

On sunny days though I walk with a little more pep, get ready (wear something other than sweats), and actually look forward to going to track practice.

Don't get me wrong I don't mind the occasional gloomy day, but we can go for a full week without sunshine and that can take a toll on a girl!

All this sunshine has made me long for summer weather! It's so nice here in the summer I can't wait!

Shhhhhhhh!!!

Isn't this baby darling?

Do you ever get sick of your own voice?

Those who know me might think this is an impossible event to occur in my life seeing as how I

1. Talk non-stop.

and

2. Like to sing at the top of my lungs at every possible moment.

Today though I think I have reached my limit and yes, I am sick of hearing my voice!

That is all.

P.S. After some thought, perhaps it was the 2 hours of America the Beautiful renditions I did today around lunch time?
